Loa

“The Zandalari worship “loa,” powerful spirits who have been a part of the world predating even the titans. Countless loa exist, most weak, but some very powerful. Most are shapeless, whereas others have animal or creature forms.

Zandalari families often worship their own family loas, cities usually have their own civic deities, and the greatest loa are worshiped by the nation as a whole. Powerful, enlightened Zandalari can become loas upon their death – or so it is believed.

These spirits are central to the Zandalari worldview: so say the loa, so go the Zandalari.”

(From ‘Shadows of the Loa’)

Trolls are a religious race and call upon the Loa for guidance, strength and powerful voodoo. In return they serve these spirits through worship, offerings and sacrifice. Trolls often devote themselves to a single Loa, as the Loa do not like sharing, and pick up the traits, habits and powers this spirit stands for. This page describes various Loa, sorted by tribe. While some are explored in-game, such as Bwonsamdi, most of the Loa are unfortunately without deep lore or long descriptions. The information on this page is therefore a mix between sources from in-game, the novels, RPG-books, Haitian vodou and popular roleplay headcanons and serves as a base for Loa worship within our guild. This site will be updated each time the game provides new lore.

All descriptions are written for / by the guild and all artwork of the Loa is commissioned by us for this website – please do not use or copy without permission on other websites, profiles and so on.
